Yoga Coach
My journey with yoga began 15 years ago. Being an avid runner who has suffered through aches and pains over the years of pounding the pavement, I realized I could greatly benefit from yoga’s effects on strength, flexibility, and balance.
I started practicing regularly and soon feel deep within the practice. In 2012, I decided to take my 200hrs Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Canmore, Canada. The practice of Yoga has taught me awareness of body and breath and to always find peace in chaos.
I have realized that both yoga and running teach us to focus on the present moment.
Mindfulness is a key part of yoga and running, as both find themselves focusing on the task at hand, without worrying about the problems of our daily lives. Breath awareness has allowed me to pace myself and run more efficiently. Quieting the mind while stretching and strengthening my body has helped me to relieve pain of muscle tension caused by long runs and daily stress.
I hope my classes allow you to calm the mind, build strength, and increase awareness. It is a true pleasure and honor to inspire and share this practice with others.
Wellness Coach (Sound
healing & Reiki)
Rajam Mulkar is a certified sound healer and reiki master. Her journey with yoga began at a young age, growing up surrounded by the philosophy and practice of this ancient knowledge. Over the years, yoga became more than a practice for her; it evolved into a way of life. It taught her the transformative power of movement, breath, and stillness in nurturing the mind-body connection.
At BOC Mind, she aims to share this journey by helping others discover how to harness their inner power and bring balance to the mind and body through movement, Pranayama/breath work, sound healing, and Reiki. She believes that true wellness comes from cultivating harmony within and exploring the tools that make this possible.
Outside of yoga, she is deeply passionate about brewing kombucha and crafting fermented drinks and vegetables for their ability to nourish both the body and the gut.
In her free time, she can often be found playing the piano, tending to her plants, spending time with her cheeky cat Garfield and teaching him new tricks (yes, cats can do tricks too!), or curled up with a good book.
Operations Manager & Manual Therapist
Works closely with our physiotherapy specialists to help achieve the best recovery outcomes for our patients. With his hardworking spirit, friendly nature, and strong work ethic, we’re confident that he will make a positive impact and be a great addition to the BOC team.
Fascia Therapist
Lays blends Brazilian heritage with British influences, having spent half her life in the UK. With an internationally recognized qualification from the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC), she furthered her education at Unicv University in Brazil.
With 9 years of professional experience and certification as a fascia therapist, Lays dedicated two years to intensive study and examinations. Passionate about providing non-invasive, medication-free treatments, Lays aims to enhance aesthetics while alleviating any pain and discomfort clients may experience. She is devoted to helping clients feel beautiful and pain-free, promoting overall health and well-being.

Rest and active recovery both support recovery, but they’re useful in different situations.
Rest may be better when there is sharp pain, swelling, bruising, illness, or a recent injury. Active recovery may help when you’re feeling mild soreness, stiffness, or general post-workout fatigue.
Gentle movement such as walking, mobility work, or light stretching can support blood flow and help the body feel less restricted — as long as it feels comfortable and controlled.
If movement makes symptoms worse, take it as a sign to slow down. Recovery is not about pushing through; it’s about knowing what your body needs that day.

This or That: Heat Pack or Ice Pack?
Not sure whether to use heat or ice? You’re not alone.
Both can be helpful — but they work in different ways and are usually used for different situations.
Ice packs are often used when there is a recent injury, swelling, bruising, or a sharp “just happened” type of pain. Cold may help calm the area temporarily and reduce discomfort after a strain, sprain, or flare-up.
Heat packs are often used for stiffness, tight muscles, general aches, or areas that feel tense rather than swollen. Heat may help relax the muscles, improve comfort, and make movement feel easier.
A simple way to remember it:
Ice = new, swollen, sharp, inflamed
Heat = stiff, tight, achy, tense
But here’s the important part: it’s not always one-size-fits-all. Some people respond better to one than the other, and some conditions may need a different approach.
Avoid placing heat or ice directly on the skin, and don’t leave either on for too long. If pain is severe, keeps returning, or comes with swelling, numbness, weakness, or difficulty moving, it’s best to get it checked.
The goal is not just to “numb the pain” or “warm the area” — it’s to understand what your body needs and support recovery safely.
This or That?
For a fresh injury: usually ice.
For muscle stiffness: usually heat.
When unsure: ask a professional.

A proud moment for the British Osteopathy Centre team in Muscat.
Dr. Mudathir Al Sketty received a token of appreciation from (Ret.) Brigadier Said Al Hajri President of the Oman Athletics Association for BOC’s participation and support during the Muscat Grand Prix Bronze Tour – World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze.
This event took place for the first time in Muscat at the beginning of September, bringing together incredible athletic talent, dedication, and sporting energy here in Oman.
For us, being part of this event was about more than treatment or recovery. It was about supporting the athletes who continue to inspire our community through their discipline, performance, and passion for movement.
Athletes remind us of the importance of preparation, resilience, recovery, and consistency. Whether competing at an international level or simply staying active in everyday life, movement plays an important role in the health and wellbeing of our community.
We are grateful to the Oman Athletics Association for this recognition and proud to have played a small part in supporting such an important sporting event in Muscat.
Here’s to more moments that celebrate sport, movement, and the inspiring athletes of Oman.

Not all pain feels the same 👀
Some pain stays in one spot.
Some pain travels.
Some feels dull and tight.
Some feels sharp, burning, tingling, or electric.
So how do you know if it’s muscular pain or nerve-related pain?
Dr. Mudathir explains a few common differences:
💪 Muscular pain may feel:
Localised to one areaWorse with movement or exerciseBetter with gentle massage or treatment
⚡ Nerve-related pain may feel:
Like it travels into the arm or legLike pins and needlesLike tingling, numbness, burning, or electric pain
The tricky part? Pain can overlap.
That’s why at British Osteopathy Centre, we don’t just look at where it hurts — we assess what may be causing it.

After an injury, pain settling down does not always mean the body is fully recovered.
Muscles may still be weak, joints may feel stiff, balance may be affected, and movement patterns can change without you noticing. This is why rehabilitation plays such an important role in safe recovery.
Rehabilitation is not only about treating the injured area. It helps restore strength, mobility, flexibility, coordination, and confidence so the body can return to daily life, work, sport, and exercise more safely.
Without proper rehabilitation, many people return to activity too quickly. This may increase the chance of repeated pain, overload, compensation, or another injury in the future.
For people in Muscat, whether you are recovering from a sports injury, gym strain, football or padel injury, work-related discomfort, or a simple everyday accident, a guided rehabilitation plan can help you understand your body better and recover at the right pace.
The goal is not just to “feel better” — it is to move better, build strength again, and feel more confident in your body after injury.
Recovery takes time, patience, and the right support. Rehabilitation helps bridge the gap between injury and getting back to the activities you enjoy.
